  Gedail Web site generation software operating from a genealogical data file in standard Gedcom format. It provides de many possibilities of customization, through the use of various parameters, and templates files; though it can appear complex to you.

  However, you can also make simple things very simply ! to hep you, this ten steps user's guide is provided :

  1. first, it is necessary, of course, to create your Gedcom file of the .ged type, genealogical data base management software generally offer an "export" function, for example :
    • Généatique : [utilities] [export to gedcom file]
    • Hérédis : [exportation] [export] [gedcom] [ANSI]
    • Brother's Keeper : [gedcom] [export] [Windows characters set]
    • P.A.F. : [export] [standard Gedcom 5.5 ANSI]
    • and so on...
  2. install GEDAIL software, if you read this document, it's done ! the only installation parametrer acting on the results is the language.
  3. start GEDAIL by opening the JFTools folder and clicking on the Gedail icon, or drag and drop your .ged file on this icon ( idem for Gedmarr or Gnet ).
  4. look at ( and check ) the results by clicking on the Results icon.
  5. if you want to change anything, modify the option file indicated in Results, or best, create your own option file by copy of the default one.
  6. note the full name of the mariages file (gedimarr.csv) and short list file (gediflst.csv) to send them enclosed to a mail with your mail tool.
  7. as "pages perso for a "personnal pages" space to your provider (ex:www.free.fr) wich will return you an identifier and password for an ftp upload.
  8. install uan ftp software to transfer files (ex:leechftp) and adapt the connection parameters to your provider specifications.
  9. transfer your pages on the provider space from the directory specified in Results.
  10. send a message to the author to announce that you use Gedail.
